Hi, my name is Anna N'Jie-Konte, CFP®. I'm a mother, wealth advisor, public speaker, and entrepreneur.
I've been named one of the country's top influential financial advisors and featured in Telemundo, CNBC, NY Times, VICE News, etc.
I don't have your typical wealth advisor profile though.
I grew up with my family as living examples of the most beautiful traits a human can have-- empathy, kindness, compassion, joy, hard work. They taught me to throw down in the kitchen too!
The only thing they didn't teach me was how to manage my finances and strategically build wealth. I spent my childhood watching the women in my life stay in bad jobs and unhealthy relationships due to financial constraints. I knew I wanted my life to be different.
The problem was, I didn't know HOW.
When I graduated college, I landed in the wealth management industry. What a wake-up call!
I quickly realized that there was a whole world of investments, estate planning, tax planning, etc. that no one in my family knew anything about!
I spent nearly a decade working in some of the biggest wealth management firms with my head down, determined to learn it all so that I could avoid the pain and financial stress I experienced as a child. I never wanted my children to feel they couldn't ask for things, or never to see me because I worked 2 or 3 jobs.
I realized that corporate life clashed with my life goals-- of being the most present mother possible, living life on my terms, and achieving financial abundance. It also didn't feel as if I was making the impact I wanted to.
How many first-generation American wealth advisors are there?
How many Puerto Rican wealth advisors are there?
How many CFPs know what it's like to earn more than anyone in your entire family?
How many people know what it's like to come into a huge quantity of money and not know what to do with it?
Not many!
This is why I create content to share what I've learned personally and professionally on my Instagram and Podcast.
It is why I founded Poder Wealth Advisors and Financial Powerhouse: The Club to empower women, particularly women of color, to live purposeful lives by growing, enjoying, and protecting their wealth, using it to create positive change.
